About & methodology

Roomwise helps people turn home and garden measurements into useful material estimates. It is a new independent project by Jon Osmond / Osmond Interactive.

Useful numbers, with the working shown

Our six tools calculate geometry, apply the allowances you choose, and round up shopping quantities where a whole package is needed. Each tool explains its method, includes a worked example, and identifies assumptions. You can use the calculators without an account.

How this site is made

The site and its original guides were developed with AI assistance. Calculator formulas have automated checks for representative values and invalid inputs. These checks do not replace your measurements, product instructions, professional advice, or a site inspection. We do not claim trade certification or independent professional verification.

What an estimate includes

Material quantity and optional material cost, based on the numbers you supply. Sample dimensions and USD prices are examples, not local quotes. Estimates exclude labor, tax, delivery, permits and additional supplies unless explicitly entered. Wallpaper estimates assume full-height continuous runs, with straight vertical pattern-repeat rounding; they do not optimize half-drop matching.

Corrections and updates

We favor transparent formulas over unexplained recommendations. If you spot an error, contact us with the calculator name, your inputs, and the result you expected. The initial edition was developed October 21, 2026.
